From clinical trials to an established machine perfusion programme: liver perfusion
This webinar was hosted on June 27 2023 from 18:00 - 18:45 CEST.

If you were unable to attend the live event, bookmark this link! An on-demand post-produced version will be available soon (with slide navigation).

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This is a pre-Congress webinar, a theoretical part of the hands-on course on Machine Perfusion.  The focus is on liver machine perfusion and the key steps of implementing a clinical machine perfusion program.

NEEDS:
Helping clinical transplant specialists identify the pathway that should be followed to develop a clinical machine perfusion program. Here, we will present and summarise clinical trial and preclinical data to determine the steps needed to translate research data in the real-life scenario of machine perfusion.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
  • Understand why and when a liver machine perfusion program could be implemented.
  • Understand the best recipient to allocate a perfused liver and how machine perfusion modifies donor/recipient match.
  • Understand the best perfusion technique for each liver graft.

PROGRAMME:
  • Introduction and welcome - Amelia Hessheimer, Spain
  • How and why to build up a liver MP programme - Damiano Patrono, Italy
  • Donor/recipient match in liver MP era - Andrea Schlegel, Germany
  • Which liver should undergo perfusion: when and how? - David Nasralla, UK
  • Discussion and Q&A - All

The Machine Perfusion webinars are preparatory and strongly recommended ahead of your participation in the Hands-on courses at the ESOT Congress in Athens!
